The Pythagorean theorem states that the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.....for a rectangle the hypotenuse is the diagonal, therefore we have
diagonal squared = 10 squared + 24 squared = 100 + 576 = 676
we now take the square root of 676 to find the length of the diagonal which is 26 feet
