Question 717512: An aquarium weigh 24.5 lb when empty. The length is 30in. long, 15in wide, and is filled with water to a depth of 20in. Water weighs 0.5 pound per cubic inch. How much does the aquarium weigh when its full of water?
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Water is 62.43 pounds per cubic foot which is 0.03613 pounds per cubic inch. If "depth of 20 in" is the actual depth of the aquarium, then the capacity would be in^3.
The total weight then of this filled aquarium is pounds. You should NOT use 0.5 pounds per cubic inch because that value is wrong.
