Question 693540: the measures of two complementary angles are 12q - 9 and 8q + 14. Find the measure of the angles
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Complementary angles have a sum of 90
12q - 9 + 8q + 14 = 90
combine like terms
20q + 5 = 90
isolate the variable
20q = 90 - 5
20q = 85
q=4.25
such that,
12(4.25) -9 = 51-9 = for one angle
8(4.25) + 14 = 34 + 14 = for the other angle
