the length of a rectangle is 2.8 cm more than 4 times the width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 38.6 cm, what are its dimensions?

Answer by checkley79(3341)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P=2L+2W
L=2.8+4W
38.6=2(2.8+4W)+2W
38.6=5.6+8W+2W
38.6-5.6=10W
10W=33
W=33/10
W=3.3 CM. FOR THE WIDTH.
L=2.8+4*3.3
L=2.8+13.2
L=16 CM FOR THE LENGTH.
PROOF:
38.6=2*16+2*3.3
38.6=32+6.6
38.6=38.6
