Question 62806: I have tried to take H= volume divided by the length and width. But I could not come to a solution. Here is the question. A rectangular solid has the base width of 10cm and width 9cm. If the volume of the solid is 270cm%3E3, find the hieght of the sloid. Thank you in advance.

Volume = area of the base x height (For a rectangular base this can be written as
Volume = length x width x height. Substitute in the known information to get
270 = 10 x 9 x height Divide each side by 10
27 = 9 x height Divide each side by 9
3 = Height
So the height is 3 cm
