How do you find the Ratio of perimeters and the ratio of areas??

Note that perimeter is 1-dimensional and area is 2-dimensional.

This means that scaling the dimensions of a shape by a factor of x would alter its perimeter by a factor of x and its area by a factor of x^2.

Therefore the ratios of original/new perimeters and original/new areas are 1:4 and 1:16 respectively.
