The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is:, where P=perimeter, L=length, and W=width. We can find the dimensions of the rectangle with this.
P=144
W=x
L=x+9 (9 feet longer)
Plug them into your formula:

Width (W): x=31.5 ft
Length (L): x+9=31.5+9=40.5 ft
