Question 561173: I am olanting a ground cover in one area of my yard. The area i want to cover us rectangular shaped and measures 8.75 ft by 4.5 ft. The manager of the gardenshop tells me that U will need to purchase four plants for every square foot of area i wish to cover. How many plants will I need to buy to complete my project?

area of your rectangle is:
8.75 * 4.5 = 39.375 square feet
.
since you need 1 plant per square feet
you'll need:
39 plants (make it 40 to be even)
