Question 546143: A trampoline has diameter of 10 feet what is it area
Answer by neatmath(302) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We can assume that this is a round trampoline.
If the diameter is 10 feet, then the radius is half of that, or 5 feet.
Then we just need to use the Area of a Circle formula:
where pi is the value 3.1415926....
So we just need to substitute our value of 5 in for r:
feet squared is the EXACT answer, and we surely didn't need a calulator for this one.
However, a real world answer is probably more appropriate if you were trying to measure the area.
So we will use the value of 3.14 for pi to approximate the area:
So the area of our trampoline is about 78.5 feet squared.
I hope this helps! :)
