Question 541707: Two cylindrical flower pots need to be painted. The flower pots are 1.5 ft in diameter and 2.5 ft high. A one litre can of paint covers 100 ft2. Will one can be enough to paint the two flower pots with two coats of paint?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The surface area of cylinder = 2pir(r+l)
Radius = 1.5 feet
Length = 2.5 feet
The surface area of cylinder = 2pi*1.5 (1.5+2.5)
S= 2 3.14 4 * 4
S= 100.54 sq. feet
You need 201.08 sq.ft to paint both pots
one can contains 100 sq.ft coverable paint
