Question 5370: I need help again. I am sorry but I keep running into these questions and I can't explain it to my son until I know how to do it myself.
How high must a crate be in order to hold 120 cubic meters if it has a base area of 24 square meters?
Thank you again, I really don't know what I would do without this site!!!!

Answer by rapaljer(4671)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Volume of a Box = Length * Width * Height
However, this also can be thought of as
Volume = (Area of the base of the box) * (Height)

You are given two of these quantities: V= 120 cubic meters, and Base = 24 square meters. What you need to find is the height. Let x = height
V = Area * Height
120 = 24 * x

Now just divide both sides by 24:

x = 5 meters.
