174=(n-2)*180 (over n - program wont depict it properly)
and 178= (n-2)*180 (over N)

I am trying to solve for the number of sides in a regular polygon and this is the equation i came up with based on the vertex I was provided (the answer) for each. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Get rid of the fraction first --> 174n=180%28n-2%29
now multiply out the bracket --> 174n=180n-360
now got all n terms together and the others on other side --> 6n=360
now divide by 6, to give n=60.

178=+180%28n-2%29%2Fn
178n=+180%28n-2%29
178n=+180n-360
2n=360
so n = 360/2
n = 180
