Question 456918: The perimeter of a rectangle is 78m. The length is 6m more then twice the width. Find the dimension.
Answer by spacesurfer(12)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You have l = 6 + 2w from the problem itself.
Also 2l + 2w = 78 by definition of perimeter.
Hence 2(6+2w) + 2w = 78 or 12 + 4w = 78, and w = 11.
So, if w = 11, then l = 6 + 2*11 = 28.
Double check: 2*11 + 2*28 = 78
