Question 435982: My word problem is "A full sheet cake is typically 18" by 24" by 2". What is the minimum surface area of a rectangular box that will contain the cake?" I understand how to figure the surface area, but do I add some to these dimensions since the cake will not fit in a box that is exactly the same size as the cake? Thank you.
