Question 405447: I need help with this problem please:
The length of a rectangular patio is three feet less than twice the width. The perimeter of the patio is ninety feet. Find the length and width.
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
width =x
length=2x-3
..
Perimeter = 2*(L+W)
2*(x+2x-3)=90
2(3x-3)=90
/2
3x-3=45
+3
3x=48
/3
x=16feet ===>width
length = 2x-3===> 2*16-3=29feet
