Question 397524: Please help me solve this Word Problem. I can't seem to even figure out how to begin this problem. If the height of a triangle with a base of 6 inches is tripled, its area is increased by 24 square inches. Find the height of the triangle.

The area of a triangle is the base times the height divided by 2. So the area of your triangle BEFORE you triple the height is:



If you add 24 to the area, you triple the height:
