Hello,
Let's have the height of school be represented as x.
Therefore we know the flag pole is 3/4(x).
We could then show this equation as:
3/4(x)+4.5=x
Subtract 3/4x from both sides and we get:
4.5=1/4(x)
Multiply both sides by 4 to get:
18=x
So we know the school is 18 meters tall.
Make sense?
I'll let you find the height of the pole.
