Question 294089: a piece of tin in the shape of a rectangle 24 inches by 45 inches is to be made into a box without a top by cutting a square from each corner and folding up the flaps to form the sides. What size corners should be cut in order to make the voulume of the box as large as possible?
ive gotten the derivative yet i cant solve it for zero:
V'(x)=1080-84x+12x^2 - did i do my original equation wrong? i used V(x)= (45-2x)(24-2x)x
