Question 293254: the perimeter of a rectangle is 56m, the length is 10m more than twice the width, find the dimension

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L=2W+10
P=2L+2W
56=2(2W+10)+2W
56=4W+20+2W
56=6W+20
6W=56-20
6W=36
W=36/6
W=6 ANS. FOR THE WIDTH.
L=2*6+10
L=12+10=22 ANS. FOR THE LENGTH.
PROOF:
56=2*22+2*6
56=44+12
56=56
