Question 268061: One of the legs of a right triangle is 5 feet long. The area of the triangle is 20 square feet. What is the angle opposite the 5-foot leg to the nearest tenth of a degree?
Answer by drk(1908)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Area = (1/2)*base * height
we are given leg = 5 and area = 20, so
20 = (1/2)*5*leg
leg = 8.
To find the angle, we use tangent x and get

so
x = 32.02 degrees
to the nearest tenth we get
x = 32 degrees
