a volleyball court is twice as long as it is wide. if the perimeter is 177 ft, find the dimensions of the court.
---------------------------------
Let the width be "x"
Then the length is "2x".
-----
Equation:
Perimeter = 2(L + W)
177 = 2(2x+x)
88.5 = 3x
x = 29.5 ft. (width)
2x = 59 ft (length)
