So we have:
the sum of double a number,one-third of the number and eight times the number is 155.Find the number. Well we know the numbers are added because of the word SUM.
double a number= 2x
a number = x
eight times a number = 8x
So when added together thwey =155
2x+x+8x=155
10x+x=155
x=155
x=155
x=
x=15
