You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Explain how you would find the volume of an irregular
shape.
You would have to chop it up (actually or through measurements) into
regular 3 dimensional shapes; then measure the volume of each and add.

You could also put the ship in a "regular" container (cube or
cylinder) and measure how much the water rises.
