Question 172305: In a triangle the measure of the first angle is one-half the measure of the second angle. The third angle's measure is 20 degrees less than the measure of the second angle. What are the measures of the angles?
Answer by Mathtut(3670) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
lets call our angles a ,b, and c
:
a+b+c=180....eq 1
a=1/2b.......eq 2
c=b-20.......eq 3
:
take a's value from eq 2 and c's value from eq 3 and plug them into eq 1
:
1/2b+b+b-20=180
:
5/2b=200... combine like terms
:
5b=400...cross multiply
:
degrees
:
degrees
:
degrees
