The perimeter of a polygon is the distance around the outside of the polygon.
To find the perimeter of a polygon you have take the sum of the length of each side.
1.)a hexagon,a six sided figure,has two equal sides and four sides each measuring 12cm,16cm,18cm,and 24cm.find the length of one of the equal sides if the perimeter of the hexagon is 100cm.
Formula for perimeter of hexagon
P=a+b+c+d+2e (there you have two equal sides = e)
Now substitute P=100, a=12, b=16, c=18, d=24 and solve for e.

Formula for perimeter of isosceles triangle (it has two equal sides)
P=2a+b
