negative value is not realistic so L/W=[1+sqrt(5)]/2 __ this is the "Golden Ratio"

W=2L/(1+sqrt(5)) __ W=(2*36)/(1+sqrt(5)) __ W=22.25 (approx)

let x="rate of boat" __ t=5/(x+4) __ t+(1/3)=5/(x-4)

substituting __ [5/(x+4)]+(1/3)=5/(x-4)

multiplying by 3(x+4)(x-4) __ 15x-60+x^2-16=15x+60

subtracting 15x+60 __ x^2-136=0 __ x=sqrt(136) __ x=11.66 (approx)
