Question 165520: How can $5400 be invested, part of it at 8% and the rest of it invested at 10%, so that the two investments will produce the same amount of interst?
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.08x=.10(5400-x)
.08x=540-.10x
.08x+.10x=540
.18x=540
x=540/.18
x=$3,000 invested @ 8%.
5,400-3,000=$2,400 invested @ 10%.
Proof:
.08*3,000=.10*2,400
240=240
