Question 148961: the perimeter of a triangle is 41 cm. the measure of the shortest side is 7 cm less than the middle side. the measure of the longest side is 5 cm less than the sum of the other 2 sides. find the lengths of the sides.
Answer by mangopeeler07(462)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
shortest: x-7
middle: x
longest: x+x-7-5
x-7+x+x+x-7-5=41

Combine like terms
4x-19=41

Add 19
4x=60

Divide by 4
x=15

Shortest side: 8
Middle side: 15
longest side: 18
