Question 12227: Need help coming up with an equation for this word sentence. Thanks in advance.
The sizes of three numbers are in the ratio of 9 : 5 : 2 and their sum is 54. What are the three numbers?

Answer by kusha(21)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The numbers are in ration 9:5:2 so assuming that the numbers have a common factor x, the actual numbers become
9x, 5x, 2x
The sum of these 3 is given to be 54 so 9x + 5x + 2x = 54
Thus 16x = 54
Therefore x = 3.375
Thus numbers would be
9x3.375, 5x3.375 & 2x3.375
(You can multiply further)
