let the side of square be
the perimeter will be

if each side of the triangle is longer than each side of the square, than the side of triangle is

the perimeter will be

if both gardens have the same perimeter, than we have

->the side of square
then
-> the side of triangle

so, dimension of square = , and dimension of equilateral triangle =

Hi
Two gardens are being fenced in ((both gardens have the same perimeter in meters)
One garden is in the shape of a square and the other is in the shape of an equilateral triangle
Each side of the triangle is 1 longer than each side of the square s
Find the dimensions of the garden.

          4s = 3(s+1)
            s = 3m is the length of each side of the square
           (s+1) = 4m is the length of each side of the triangle
checking our work:
 4(3m) = 3(4m)  checks
