Let represent the length of the wall and let represent the width of the wall. Then let represent the height of the rectangular portion of the window and let represent the width of the window.

The amount of wallpaper required is the area of the wall minus the area of the window.

The area of the entire wall is

The area of the window is the sum of the area of the rectangular part of the window and the area of the semicircular part of the window. and .

You need to find the measurements and do the arithmetic. If you are doing this for a math assignment, then the answer is whatever you get. If you are actually planning a home improvement project, add 10% for waste.
