HI THERE,
YOU MUST LIKE SHOUTING. PERHAPS YOU ARE EXCITED TO DO MATHEMATICS (LIKE ME) !
The quadratic equation is not needed, and irrelevant in my method, for solving this problem.
Let w be width:
Width = w
Length = 5w - 6 <--(6 ft. less than 5 times the width)
Sum of all sides = Perimeter
5w - 6 + 5w - 6 + w + w = 48
SINCE YOU LIKE MATH SO MUCH, TRY THIS ONE OUT! GOOD LUCK! WRITE BACK IF YOU NEED MORE HELP.
