Question 1089183: How many pavers (bricks) do I need (each brick is 10 1/2 " in length, 3 1/2 " in width) if I lay a small patio (no cement involved) that is going to be in a quarter circle pattern, starting at the corner point of a backyard wall measuring out six feet from the meeting corner point of the walls. Note / Reiteration: Patio diagram mirrors the same diagram of a quarter circle of a pie / cake / or any other quarter circle pattern for that matter... sorry about stating the obvious. Also, for your information the height of each paver (brick) is 1 13/16 "'s. Thank you, Gil

The only way to do this that makes any sense is to calculate the area of the space you want to cover and divide by the area of an individual brick.

Each brick area is

The area of your little patio is

Then rounded up to the next whole brick is 111.

Now if you lay in a radial pattern out from circle center outward, this calculation overstates your needs by a bunch because of the necessary gaps that you will have to leave.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
