There are two segments. The total of both is 540 cm. one segment is 4 times longer than the other segment. How long are each segments?
----
one segment is 4 times longer than the other segment
1 time longer = 2 times as long
2 times longer = 3 times as long
3 times longer = 4 times as long
4 times longer = 5 times as long
-----------------
Call them S & L, for short and long
S + L = 540
S + 5S = 540
6S = 540
S = 90 cm
L = 450 cm
