Question 1064015: The perimeter of a triangle is 44 cm. One of its sides is 4 cm smaller than the other and twice as long as the third side. Find the sides of the triangle.
Answer by addingup(3677) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a+b+c = 44
a = b-4
c = 2b
substitute:
b-4+b+2b = 44
4b-4 = 44
4b = 48
b = 12
then:
a = b-4 = 12-4 = 8
and:
c = 2b = 2(12) = 24
-------------------
check:
a+b+c = 44
8+12+24 = 44 Correct
