Question 1059595: Joe fenced in his garden using 60 feet of fencing. The length is 2 feet less than seven times the width. What are the die mentions of his garden?
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
width=x
length is 7x-2
The half perimeter is 30 feet, so that is l+w or x+7x-2
Therefore, 8x-2=30
8x=32
x=4
width is 4 feet
length is 26 feet
The perimeter is 2 lengths (52)+ 2 widths (8) or 60 feet.
