Question 1054786: Please help me solve this equation: X + 6X - 290 = 130
Question/directions: find the measure of each numbered angle.
The shape is a X with two acute angles on the side(which is what I'm looking for, they are equal.) and obtuse angles on the top and bottom which are equal as well. The total measure should be 360 with all angles added

Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Your X is two intersecting lines
:
Let's number the angles clockwise beginning with the left acute angle
:
the acute angles are 1 and 3, the obtuse angles are 2 and 4
:
we are given
:
x +6x -290 = 130
:
add 290 to both sides of the = and combine like terms
:
7x = 420
:
x = 60
:
*********************************
The acute angles are 60 degrees
:
The obtuse angles are 120 degrees
:
60 + 60 * 120 + 120 = 360
