Question 1045553: If Juan’s mom uses all 24 ft of fencing and tries a circular shape
for the vegetable area, what will the length of the diameter be?
Draw a circle and label it. Find its area. Compare its area with
the area of the rest of the rectangles.

Perimeter of a circle is 2*pi*r=24 feet
12 feet= pi*r
r=12/pi=3.82 feet.
The diameter is 7.64 feet.
The area is pi*r^2=pi*(3.82)^2=45.84 sq ft.
The rectangle with the largest area per given perimeter can be shown to be a square.
The square with perimeter of 24 feet has side length 6 feet and area 36 sq ft.

Check--perimeter is pi*D
7.64*pi=24.00 feet.
