Question 1035955: You are going to build a new garage similar to the rectangular one you currently have. The current dimensions are 25 feet wide by 20 feet long. You need to stake and rope off where the concrete will be poured. If the new garage is going to have a width of 30 feet, how much rope are you going to need?
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To find the new length, we use a proportion, calling it x we have
25x = 600
x = 24 feet
Thus the new dimensions will be 30 by 24 feet...the perimeter of such a rectangle is given by
P = 2L + 2W = 2(30) + 2(24) = 108 feet of rope
