Question 1034213: Amanda wants to make a rectangular fenced area for her dogs. She wants the area to be 32 square feet with the length of the yard being twice the width. What would it coast amanda to put up fencing for her dogs if the fencing costs $3.00 per foot?.
Answer by jorel555(1290) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Amanda needs 32 square feet of fencing, and the length is 2x the width, so:
LxW=Area
x(2x)=32
2x^2=32
x^2=16
x=4
2x=8
The perimeter would be 2(4+8), or 24 feet of fencing; which at $3.00 per foot equals $72.00!!!!!
