Question 1029746: There is a cell phone tower in the field across Tess's house. If she walks 50ft from the tower, and finds the angle of elevation from her position to the top of the tower to be 60 degrees. How tall is the tower?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
tan(60) = sqrt(3).

tan(60) = opposite / adjacent

adjacent = 50

tan(60) = opposite / 50

opposite = 50 * tan(60) = 50 * sqrt(3) = 86.60254038.

that's the height of the tower.
