Question 1017894: I've been trying to figure this out, but I am not really good at this type of math problems.
a shipping container is 48 feet long, 9ft 6in tall, 8ft 6in wide whats the volume of the container in cubic feet? what is the size door to the container in squear feet? Find the cubic meter/square meter. A super tanker can carry total of 359,000cubic meter of oil. if the supertanker were to be filled with the shipping container how many container can it carry?

Don't feel bad. I constantly do word problems, and
this one is a little strange.
The volume is:
ft3
------------------
What size door? I guess the door opening would be
width x height = ft2
------------------
For the next part:
[ volume of the supertanker ] / [ volume of 1 shipping container ] =
[ number of shipping containers supertanker can hold ]
------------------
Do a unit conversion:
( [ cubic ft ] / [ 1 cubic meter ] ) x 359000 = [ cubic ft in supertanker ]
Then [ cubic ft in supertanker ] / 3876 = [ number of shipping containers tanker can hold ]
------------------
You just need the unit conversion:
[ cubic ft ] / [ 1 cubic meter ]
Hope this helps
