Question 1004520: The students want to order special paint to make the set look nice. The price for paint is 65 euros. The students know that the exchange rate is currently 30 euros for 27 dollars. How much will the paint cost in dollars ?
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

That's not the present rate of exchange. The euro is
worth more than the US dollar, not less. But pretending
it is "30 euros for 27 dollars", which is wrong, the
problem is

€65 $27
——— × ——— = $58.50
 1 €30

But the present rate is €100 = $107, so the actual price
in dollars today is

€65 $107
——— × ———— = $69.55
 1 €100
