dante + mia =350
dante/2 = (2/3)*mia (after losing pennies)
=> dante =(4/3)*mia
Putting in original equation,
(4/3)*mia + mia =350
=> mia = 150
So, dante= 200

x/2 =2Y/3 She lost 1/3, so she has 2/3 left
But x+y =350
x=350-y
(350-y)/2 = 2y/3
cross-multiply
3(350-y)=4y
1050-3y =4y
7y=1050
y=150 Mia; she loses a third, she has 100
x=200 Dante; he loses half, he has 100
