We now look only at the .72.

Multiply by 32 to find how many 32nds that is

23.04 32nds of a pound.

So the scale read 23/32 which is really .7185 and they rounded it off to .72

The scale could be off as much as 1/2 of a 32nd.

So the meat could have weighed as much as 5 and 23.5 32nds pounds,
which is 5+23.5/32 = 5.734375 pounds. or as little as 5 pound and 22.5 32nds,
which is 5+22.5/32 = 5.703125

you paid 699 pesos per pound for 5.72 pounds, so you paid 3998.28 pesos.

Suppose the meat weighed 5.734375 pounds. Then at 699 pesos per pound,
that should have cost 5.734375x699 = 4008.328125 pesos.

But since you only paid 3998.28 pesos, you would have been undercharged by

4008.328125 - 3998.28 = 10.048125 pesos.

Suppose the meat weighed only 5.703125 pounds. Then at 699 pesos per pound,
that should have cost 5.703125x699 = 3986.484375 pesos.

But since you paid 3998.28 pesos, you would have been overcharged by

4008.328125 - 3998.28 = 21.84375 pesos.

So you could have been undercharged by about 10 pesos or overcharged about
22 pesos.
