f - 7 = 6(b - 7)
f - 7 = 6b - 42
f = 6b - 42 + 7
f = 6b - 35
:
In one year, she will only be twice as old as Bernice.
f + 1 = 2(b+1)
f + 1 = 2b + 2
f = 2b + 2 - 1
f = 2b + 1
Replace f with (6b-35)
6b - 35 = 2b + 1
6b - 2b = 1 + 35
4b = 36
b = 36/4
