F+1=2(B+1)
F+1=2B+2 Subtract 1 from each side.
F=2B+1
F-7 years=6(B-7 years) Substitute for F
2B+1-7years=6B-42 years Subtract 2B from each side.
-6 years=4B-42 years Add 42 years to each side.
36 years=4B Divide each sidde by 4.
9 years=B Bernice is 9 years old.
F+1 year=2(B+1 year)
F+1 year=2(9 years+1 year)
F+1 year=20 years Subtract year from each side
F=19 years ANSWER: Fatima is 19 years old.
