A couple wants to have only four children
a, b, c, d
so spaced that the first is older than the second by 2years,
a = b + 2
the second older than the third by three years,
b = c + 3
the third older than the fourth by 4years.
c = d + 4
Therefore
a = d + 9
If their plan is realized, how old will the eldest child be when the youngest is nine years old?
d = 9
a = 9 + 9
a = 18
