problem correct? 
A gold bracelet is discounted at 40% and sold 
for $750. Find the regular price of the bracelet. 
I have it being $1050.00

Subtract from regular price, get $1050 - $420   
Set that equal to selling price:

10x - 4x = 7500
      6x = 7500
       x = 1250

So the correct answer is $1250.00

Solving a word problem is exactly like checking an
answer in it to see if it is correct, only you use
x instead of the number you're checking, and at the 
end you solve for x.
