Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a+b=18000
a-a/3+b-b/4=13000
12/12*a-12/12*a/3+12/12*b-12/12*b/4=13000
12/12*a-4/12*a+12/12*b-3/12*b=13000
8/12*a+9/12*b=13000
2/3*a+3/4*b=13000
a+b=18000
a = 6000, b = 12000
